Upgrading...Help please

Current Specs..
Motherboard- Asus Rampage Extreme x48
CPU- E8500 running @ 4GHZ
GPU- XFX 275 xxx edtion
RAM- 4gig DDR3 (1333)

Been thinking rebuilding for a 7i system, but are the benefits worth it long term? or is it worth putting a quad core in my current system and adding more RAM (1600)?

Don't think 775 will last much longer, and with the likes of ATI new cards and 5i and 9i, I want to be able to upgrade when the time comes, but having the money now before I spend it on useless junk, its properly the best time for me financially

For gaming that spec is perfect at the moment, but like you say if you're ok financially and will eventually want to upgrade to that anyway in the not too distant future then go for it. And its i5, i7 and i9 is it not.

it will last for 2 years at least

maybe upgrade in late 2010 to six core with xfire 5870s
