:) Hi all

I have an HP Compaq nx9105 laptop which is extremely slow compared to my desktop in loading up windows, IE, anything in general, but particulary when extracting large rar files.

The specs of the laptop are a64 3400+, 512mb, gf4 64mb, 60gb HDD. Looking on the net I have found that the harddrive is only 4200rpm. I am thinking of buying a 7200rpm HDD for the laptop in order to speed it up. is this right every1??

A 7200rpm hard drive certainly ought to speed it up a bit however it will probably also diminish battery life somewhat. You also need to make sure it will fit, e.g. it is 9.5mm or less high and 2.5" IDE interface, unless of course you have a SATA model.
