Hi Folks,

What type of memory do I need to upgrade a late 2009 13" Macbook pro. It comes with 2gb already but I ideally want 4gb. Can I add another stick of 2gb?

Thanks

I'm slightly confused, are you sure its a late 2009 model as standard the 13" Macbook pro has 4gb RAM as standard. I'd suggest running your system profiler to check (click 'About this Mac' then 'more info'). From there you will be able to check exactly what you need.

Nolimit is correct (if you have the right model), it uses DDR3 1066mhz RAM, but try and get "mac specific" memory as I've had problems using 'generic' stuff before. It doesn't need to cost any more though, so be careful where you buy from.

This base model has 2gb :).

Yep, I've just had a look and you're absolutely correct :)
In that case you will need 2x2gb sticks as it comes with 2x1gb sticks (annoying that Apple do that, but hey-ho).

You should be paying around £80 for 2x2gb of Mac specific memory.
