UpGrading Memory

Hi Guys, This is my first post and a NOOB with the computer thing!!!
My Rig is as follows....
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-152-AS)
Crossfire enabled cards...
ATI Radeon X1900 ***Crossfire/Master Edition*** 512MB GDDR3 (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-045-CO)
Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT-X 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (3055) (GX-046-CO)
Corsair 1GB DDR2 XMS2-5400C4 PRO TwinX (2x512MB) (MY-116-CS)
(x2) I have 2GB.
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Retail (SC-034-CL)
Thermaltake VA9000SWA Kandalf Aluminium Full Tower - Silver (CA-004-TT)


Well I am thinkg about a memory upgrade...to this
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-6400C3 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-120-CS)

so what do you guys think, or is it just overkill?

Welcome to the forums, 2gb Ram is probably a good idea but I don't think CAS3 Ram is totally necessary considering it costs you about £100 or more extra. Just pick a decent PC6400 set like the Geil PC6400 or Corsair PC6400C4.

Cheers for reply mate...I`ll take that on board, but what is really the difference between cas4 and a cas3 in performance terms.
the reason being i want to overclock my processor abit more.
Its currently clocked at 3019.87 MHZ but I know that the conroe can do more on air cooling. As I am new to this I don`t want to send my memory to the grave yard yet!!!
