Hi,

I built my pc in 2009 and its time to upgrade. Last year my graphics card(ATI Radeon 4890) basically died and this year my power supply has started to fail. I dont know what the problem is but I can't get power to my pc anymore. My pc spec is :-

ASUS P7P55D LE P55 Socket 1156 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
ATI Radeon HD 4890
Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz Socket LGA1156 8MB L3 Cache
OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit OCZ3P1333LV4GK)
OCZ StealthXStream 700w Silent Power Supply

I hope that Is enough to work from.

I want to put in a new graphics card, power supply and maybe upgrade my Ram to. My issue is I am not sure what Is compatible with my motherboard. I can Upgrade Ram without an issue. Its mainly I don't know which graphics card my system could handle and what power supply to go for. For the case of the power supply I don't know how much Watts is needed. I felt that this pc was power hungry!

Im not a hardcore gamer so I don't need the top spec components but I would like a card powerful enough to play for example the latest assassins creed or total war games...(I have never been able to run total war correctly).

Thanks for your advice,

Tom

Welcome.

Something like this will work. :)

You can overclock your CPU for more performance.. (if you have a decent aftermarket cooler)..

Are you certain its your PSU and GPU at fault?

I take it you're running 64-bit version of Windows

Control Panel
System and Maintenance
System

If its 32, then only 3.5 GB of system Ram will be available.
