Hello overclockers. I'm looking into upgrading my gaming rig I'm currently using a E5400 @ 4ghz (watercooled) 4gig ddr2 ocz ram and an Asus p5q SE/R and i'm looking at getting either an I3 core or an I5 core (preferably the I5) Though my budget unfortunately is limited to £275-300 and with that i need a mobo ram and processor, it's not a rather large budget i do understand however is there any half decent set-up's i can afford with this budget? i will be overclocking, i'd prefer a mobo that can use crossfire if possible as i have two 4800's that i'd like to crossfire, can anyone point me in the right direction as to what i should be looking towards with my limited budget?

Thanks - Jim.

Tempting to suggest keeping your RAM, get an AM2+ mobo and sticking a phenom II x4 in it, should easily outpace i3's at least. Leaving you with a chunk of change, possibly even enough for an SSD boot drive ;D. Crossfire solutions with AMD mobo's are two a penny

I really would'nt build a new Intel rig now. Sandybridge is due this year now, having been moved forward from Q1 next year. This means that 1156 will be a dead socket. I don't see any point in going from one dead socket to another. Surely your E5400 @ 4Ghz is not holding you back? Use the time to save up some more money for the launch of Sandybridge.

I would have thought a 4GHz chip would atleast hold out until the new Intel pieces come along? I'd set the money aside personally.
