Hi guys!

Basically I want to be able to play some more intensive games on my PC as it's been a while since I've bought any components and it's lacking a lot really.

I'm upgrading from a Pentium G3258 and a GTX 750 Ti. Budget ~£300

Was thinking maybe a Core i5 4460 and a GTX 1050? Main concern was if that CPU would bottleneck much in games? Trying to avoid upgrading my whole PC, as I don't have much money to spend. Just want to be able to play more modern shooters, RPGs, etc. Playing at 1080p with good framerates, but high details etc isn't too important. Maybe it would be worth trying to stretch to a 1060?

Thanks :) - Oscar

what games are you trying to play?

okay for me due to multi screen setup user error i was playing on my 19" 1440x900 vga screen lol, but in Doom and cod:IW i was getting 34-60fps using high settings with the system in my sig, my CPU utilization was a bit all over so obviously a bottleneck somewhere, but majority of the time all smooth gaming.... i cant remember the difference between the 660 and a 1050ti i had before as i didnt own doom etc and was gaming on a quad am1 sempron ha, but im certainly pleased with my upgrade as i was gaming on this computer with a 710 that did okay in some games. ive had a few 750 cards, they are quite good, but again it depends what your playing.

your cpu is dual core which doesnt help.

this is a big improvement, so try adding this to your 750ti and see how you get on

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £246.43 (includes shipping: £10.50)

depending on your case/psu and games you play then you could use the left over cash on something like a used 950/960 or a 1050 if you lucky enough to find some under £100.
