Had to repost for some reason, because my last thread didnt want to let me type or see any responses..

Looking to upgrade a few parts but not sure where to start..

When it comes to Budget, i dont have a set budget but im not looking to go crazy..

Anyway here are my parts i currently have..

Hard Drive - 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 HDD

Processor - Intel Core i5-2400 Quad Core 3.10GHz

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H 1.0 Intel® Z77 Express Chipset

Graphics Card - Zotac NVidia GeForce GTX560* 1GB GDDR5

Disc Drive - Samsung SH-222BB/BEBE - 22x SATA DVDRAM/DVD+/-RW

Case - Coolermaster HAF912 Plus Black ATX Case No PSU

PSU - Coolermaster Elite Power 500W standard ATX

RAM - 8GB kit DDR3 1600 Crucial Ballistix Sport DIMM 240pin

Thought the GTX 560 you have requires two? If your PSU only has one connector you'll need to buy a new one that has two.

Samsung 250GB 850 Evo is a good SSD

Oh so i wouldnt need a new PSU? and just use the adapter instead? Also do the Radeon Graphics cards have a recording software? Like Nvidia has Shadowplay?

Yea you still need a new PSU, as the 970 requires two PCIe connectors.

I think what ExRayTed was referring to is how you're powering your current GPU, I assume it only uses one connector otherwise you would have another PSU which has more.

You wouldn't need a new power supply just because your existing one does not have enough 6 pin PCI-E connectors. You could use your existing power supply but use a molex to PCI-E connector such as the one I listed above.

Your existing power supply outputs 38 amps across the 12v rail which is enough for a GTX970. You would simply have to use the connector linked above to connect to one of the 3 'peripheral' connectors in the image below to create an extra 6 pin. Even if you are using all 3 of the molex 'peripheral' connectors the cable linked above has a pass-through

I don't know if I can be any clearer - you do not need a new power supply just because it only has 1 6 pin..

Not sure I'd be using a molex to PCIe adaptor.. it won't be capable of delivering the same amount of wattage as a PCIe connector. Plus it's an excuse to get a new PSU, preferably modular ;)

Please stop posting rubbish - the molex connector is capable of delivering 11 amps or 132 watts which is easily enough. A 6 pin PCI-E connector draws up to 75 watts, less than a molex connector. Graphics card manufacturers used to supply the cables - why would they if they couldn't deliver the needed power?
