hi there i regularly build and upgrade pcs but today came across a new problem.

I was upgrading components into an old pc case (including motherboard) and i came across this problem. The Cable that attachs the power button to the motherboard wont fit into the newer motherboard( the power button as in the button that we press to turn the computer on). The cable thats coming from the power button is like an old a smaller version of an IDE cable... ive never seen this method before only with the seperate cables saying "power hd" "led" etc.

Whats the fastest/cheapest work around for this problem?

thanx in advance.

I have this problem on a oem case, sometime cases built for a big manufacturer of pcs are designed to work in a proprietry way with one motherboard. Proprietry meaning adaptors probably don't exist.

Not much you can do, except dismantle the connector and fit new connectors on each wire. Easiest way might be to sabotage an old case, cut the wires off its connectors and solder them on to the end of the wires in the new case.
