Upgrading RAM

Hi all first post so be gentle

I am looking at upgrading the memory in my father inlaws computer, the PC is old and slow but just needs to be made acceptable (there is other issues that will be identified in the correct sections)so no spending 1000's. currently its running 512mb of ddr 333mhz. i am looking into using this as the upgrade http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-183-OC&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1516 would this be ok?

I'm afraid not, the system uses the older DDR ram, the stuff you linked to will not work as this is ddr3.

You probably need to look at the second hand Market place

thanks for the reply, with my limited knowledge i didnt know ddr existed ive only ever known ddr2 or ddr3 etc. i will look further
