over the past few weeks our sky box has slowed down dramatically.

It takes almost a minute to start up before you can change a channel and once started up you press the channel up button and it has a delay of around 3 - 5 seconds before it switches channel.

What i'm going to do is upgrade the HDD using Copy+. Has anyone used this and what were there experiences etc. Anything i should know about/lookout for?

I'm going to run the programme through my laptop which is running Win7 32bit and the harddrives will be placed inside a HDD docking station.

Will this still work?

Also i have already defragged the planner etc etc and it is still extremely slow.

Any help/advice appreciated

I have replaced the HDD in my Sky HD box a couple of times going to a 500gb drive first then a 1tb drive and used Copy+ to transfer everything over - works very well but if you aint fussed about losing the stuff on anytime until it redownloads then i would suggest you turn off anytime on the box before you do it (as it adds hours to the copying of data) are you able to plug in the old and new hard disks at the same time to your laptop as that will speed it up as well

i turned anytime off a long time ago so that should help.

Yeah the docking station i've got can house two hard drives at the same time.

Roughly how long does it take to do?

My box was running terribly slow until I forced a firmware upgrade (google showed me how to this).

Its now running fine again and haven't seen any slow down since.

i tried this just after xmas which helped for a day or two but has since gone back to being slow. also the sound goes upon startup too.

maybe i'll try a firmware update again later just to check it's all ok

Just to add something
If you want to keep some of the programmes on anytime, instead of turning it off
before transferring
you can press the RECORD button on the anytime programmes you don't want
and they will be moved to your main folder
and you can then delete them from their
