Upgrading slightly from a 2500k to 2600k

hi guys,, Installed the 2600k today and overclocked it to the same speed as my 2500k 4.3ghz, but I notice that the GRops in intel burntest is lower then my 2500k was. The GRops on the 2500k was about 180.xxx and the 2600k is about 96 -100.xxx GRops?

My 2600k is still going strong at 4.6GHz - paired with a GTX1080 it does very well in every game i throw at it... I'm not really into PVP though, so I've not tested battlefield 1 or PUBG (can't stand that game) on multiplayer (though I played the single player demo of battlefield 1 and it ran great), it plays Doom, Wolfenstein, 7 Days to Die, COD single player stuff, oh and Crysis 3 all runs great, min 100fps in crysis 3 in most scenes I noticed.

Wish intel or someone would give a reason to upgrade as I'd love to buy a new system just for the hobby aspect, but cannot justify the spend!

I was thinking about upgrading from my 3770k recently but as described above, it just isn't worth it.

At 5GHz its as fast (sometimes faster) than a stock 7700k. Combined with a 1080 compared to my old 980 it beasts everything I've tried at 3440x1440.

At this rate, I see me getting another 3 years out of it.

If building a 'new' rig for primarily for gaming, I would be tempted to buy a used CPU, mobo and RAM either 1155 or 1150 and spend what is saved on a better GPU.
