upgrading the CPU

i was wondering if you could help me find compatible CPU which will work in the following system:

Socket 479 mPGA
current cpu: intel pentium t2060 1.60 GHz
chipset: intel i945PM

Would be unlikely to gain much performance from just CPU upgrade IMO. Is this a laptop?

If you want the actual processor, the bay is an option. The core duo series T2700 is the best if your mobo supports it.

Minor upgrades - but Drop in replacement (same family at T2060 - 533fsb)
T2080 - 1.73 Ghz
T2130 - 1.86 Ghz

T2500 - 2.0Ghz
T2600 - 2.16Ghz
T2700 - 2.33Ghz

Might work (BIOS Dependant I would think - 667fsb 4Mb Cache)
T7200 - 2.0Ghz
T7400 - 2.16Ghz
T7600 - 2.33Ghz

Think you need bios A11 or higher:

I assume the laptop is an inspiron 6400? If not post the model number or the dell service tag (in fact the dell service tag should take you straight to the download page for bios updates etc)
