hey guys! so im looking at upgrades for my system... im just looking for a genraly performance boost really from the kit i already have, i am willing to change ram and maybe processor but im not sure its just worth buying new kit all together :/ what do you think?

Performance in what? That system is already very quick, doubt you'll be able to improve performance in basic everyday stuff.

Dont see much wrong with that system. What are your primary uses, if gaming you could possibly look into adding a second gtx 570.

No need to upgrade. If your afer more gaming performance then adding a second GTX570 is the best option. Also if you've not overclocked then do so, all the CPUs will do 4GHz assuming you've go reasonable cooling. I wouldn't bother getting a new motherboard. An overclocked i7 950 won't be bottlenecking anything.

Heat can be an issue if your case has poor airflow. Another option is an intel sandybridge system, but this means a new cpu, motherboard and ram. Changing your current x58 board for another would be a bit pointless tbh.

ive got a corsair 600t case... think that should be ok?? also ive just looked at the new sandybride e and OMG!! sexay! but veeerrry pricey! lol will they be bringing out some cheeper cpu's??

sell the main bits and change to sandybridge? only real logical upgrade in the long run, you can add another gpu for folding. but i think once you sell the 950, mobo and ram, you wont be far off a 2600k, z68 and some ram.

Case should be fine, as is your psu, im running 2 more power hungry 470's on an 850w corsair. Those expensive cpu's are the new sandybridge e's, i suspect there will be cheaper versions released in the future.

Is that with the overclocked i7 in your sig? Never know a 650W could power such a beasty system :)

@OP try overclocking if you haven't already, if its still too slow then try adding a second 570 (assuming of course that its a gpu bottleneck). Very few games out atm will max a 4ghz 950.
