I currently have a socket 754 A64 3200+ 1GB Crucial CAS3 PC3200 - i also have a 7800GTX and I feel my PC is really holding my gfx card back. The ram and CPU barely overclock at all (like 5%) and I'm looking to change this.

I'm considering upgrading to...
DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (MB-014-DF)
AMD Opteron UP 146 San Diego 2.0GHz 1MB Cache (Socket 939) - Retail (CP-142-AM)
G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB) CAS3 Dual Channel Kit (F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ) (MY-008-GS)

I'm guessing that the RAM will give more boost than the CPU so I would plump for that first. Either way, having 2GB of RAM is becoming something of a necessity these days with many people.

Well ive been playing BF2 and it plays more smoothly at MUCH higher settings overall, so im pleased with the upgrade even though the figures maybe dont do it justice :)

Now I just need to find my sweet spot O/C ing, in windows at 3ghz as i write this... i have yet to try a game at this speed :p

As a bonus because of the chipset similarities etc I merely had to reinstall my video and chipset drivers, no windows reinstall req'd. Even my audigy just carried on working :p

Well, final post for now, and I'm gonna leave it running all day whilst im at work.

2.9Ghz Prime stable,

3DMark06...
4039 3dmarks
sm2.0 1767
HDR/SM3 1736
CPU Score 1123

Seamless gaming :p I'm pretty sure that I can get 3Ghz out of it with a little tweaking, the ram is at 3-4-4-8 with 'Auto' for pretty much everything else (conservative settings I assume) so I have room to play. Now i just need to read up on this great DFI board, so many options to play with!!!
