I've just experienced a couple of rare powercuts which normally I wouldn't worry about as I have a UPS connected to my system. However the power went off and so did my PC. Once the power returned I tested my UPS and found it wasn't supporting my system so believing it to be at the end of its life I replaced it with an APC BE700-UK. After allowing it to charge I turned off the power at the wall and again the PC went straight off. I only have the PC and 19" LCD monitor connected to the battery back-up sockets on the UPS. I'm worried now that even this is too much for the UPS. Please have a look at my spec which also has two SATA, a DVD and CD rewriter drives and see what you think.
Cheers.

I have an APC backups 650VA running what I have in my sig (note its running 2x 20" monitors too). Some of the UPS's have a "surge only" port on them (for stuff like printers etc..) which is usually a different colour than the others, so make sure your PC isn't plugged in to that connector.

Oh and I also have my PC speakers connected to mine as I dont have any other free plug sockets, they are cambridge soundwork speakers too (supposedly 75w each of the two speakers at peak, and 150w sub).

Hi
The PC and monitor a definitely plugged in to the battery outlets but it still goes straight off. Is there anything in the bios I should be setting?
Cheers
