Hi all,
Just put together a Gigabyte UD3R, i7 920 and H50 build. I used the thermal paste already on the H50. The CPU temp was showing betwen 55-60c at idle. I suspected that the H50 needs to be screwed in tighter but I already used a few more turns of the screws than the instructions recommended. I gave all 4 screws a few turns anyway and this brought initial idle down to 45c. The screws don't seem even thumb tight, that is, there seems to be room to turn them some more. I'm worried about damaging the CPU by turning the screws too much - is 45c ok or should I tighten the H50 up some more?
