Urgent Help Needed - Computer Won't Start Up

I've put my new card in and now it does exactly what it was doing before. Turns on for 5 seconds, turns off, turns back on again etc forever.

Nice waste of £60 on the PSU.

Next up, £100 wasted on new motherboard as I try to solve the problem.

Please post a picture with your new card in.
The pictures above give the impression you have the card in the wrong slot.

What is your old graphics card and what is your new one ?

What Mobo ?

btw.. If your Psu has B0rked you have a warranty on it !!

I've bought a new mother board and now it works.

Excellent :) Glad to hear it's sorted.

No point having both PSU's though - I would get the first one fixed under warranty (if it's broken) then auction the replacement! Just make sure you send recorded delivery and try and get them to pay with postal orders to avoid scammage ;):D If the first one isn't broken, then I'd just send the new one back...

Same goes for your old mobo if it's under warranty - get it repaired or replaced then auction it off. No point wasting money!

Sorry to be negative, but I also bought an Asus P5K (premium black pearl).
Same problem, turns on, everything sounds like its working but no video.
Typing "P5K no video on boot" into Google says it all.
I know every now and then someone has to have a dodgy/duff board, but i'm extremely disappointed, and I don't feel like having another Asus board.
I know it's possible a replacement might work fine, but with the amount of people its happened to, and the different situations, I wouldnt feel comfortable each time I turned off my pc.
What surprised me most was the lack of knowledge of this particular problem on the forums. Not in a bad way, everyone is very helpful, but in my opinion it's a reason to avoid buying an Asus board.

All this said, I always get frustrated and make a mountain out of a molehill, I'm sure there are lots of people sitting there right now with the same board as happy as can be. Damn you!

OP - I feel/felt your pain

S I always get frustrated and make a mountain out of a molehill,

I think you're in the right to do so, tbh..! If something doesn't work 100% as intended, it doesn't work at all! That's a sweeping generalisation of course, but I don't see why anyone should feel happy with something that's not working the way it should.
