Hi, I've just done a few upgrades on someone else's machine. I've put in a new psu, ram, and gpu.

But the problem is that the mobo takes a 20pin plug, rather than 24. So I've put the 20 in, but there's a separate 4pin plug on the mobo. The psu's 4pin cable is attached to the 20pin, and isn't long enough to stretch to the slot.

And so, the pc turns on, but nothing comes up on the screen. What can I do?

This pic shows the 4 pin and the 4pin plug.

Thanks

Crap. Now I got another problem. The pc boots up fine. But there's no display when connected to the 5770. There's only display on the screen when connected to the onboard vga socket. Now I know there could be a number of problems here

Yep managed to get all that working.

The pc is 100% fine when running off the onboard graphics. But it won't work when plugged in to the 5770. The 5770 is running, I can certainly hear it!

ATI has plug and play drivers right?

Anant your noobness amazes me sometimes.

So I take you have the 12V rail in, and the power to the GFX?

Yes :p

As I've stated several times, the graphics card has the correct cable connected, I've checked that a few times now.

Would you be able to take a few more photos of all the connections to the motherboard?

Have you changed anything in the BIOS other than the graphics? You may want to reset the CMOS as well so you can start again from motherboard defaults.

Yes, as soon as I realised that there was something wrong I tried resetting the cmos.
EDIT: Photos coming up

That might be the problem. The motherboard is only pcie 1.0

The drivers won't install properly either, but that shouldn't be the problem, as it should still work with plug and play right.
