Hi guys,
Iv got an asus p5q pro turbo/ yorkfield q9550 2.83 quad and seems to be freezing every time i start windows takes about 4-5 restarts loads windows 7 repair and then loads windows. Apparently its a fairly common issue but worry im killing my pc restarting it so many times! Iv tried a fresh install totally wiped my harddrive etc and its still ongoing. Any tips would be hugely appreciated I figure its something to do with my bios which iv updated to the most recent version and tried resetting the cmos still no luck!

Dont know of the top of my head as im at work but il have a check once im home could that be the issue thats making it unstable loading? its fine once it starts up! Any recommended settings?

I would start with the rated settings:

2.1V DRAM voltage, timings: 5-5-5-15 2T, Frequency: 533MHz (1066MHz DDR)

If you just installed the RAM and didn't input the settings in the BIOS (or select a profile) then the motherboard would have set it to a default level - which may not be ideal for those modules.

Set the ram last night to 2.1v dram and 5-5-5-15 2t as suggested by cmdr andi and its still locking up on boot then runs windows repair and starts its odd! Any more ideas hate to think i need a new mobo as once its running its a right treat of a pc!!
