Trying to be the good samaritan father in law is around and has a 1.4 16v Megane Scenic.
Problem being is it is missfiring quite bad more noticable at lower revs even at idle. Immediate suggestion implies power coils but 'google' also suggests crank sensor. Whats the probability of it being the latter? I can change the coils but do not want it to be a waste of money.
Of course he can take it to a dealers, but at what cost?
It has 77k miles on it, and having drove it around the block it is terrible. Even on the motorway put in in 5th and it just seems to lose 10% of power.
