so i was at my dads work comp with all the cctv footage off his shop because i recently purchased a gfx and the computer it was inteded for had a cpu blow out so i decided to install it in this prefectly working pc.

so i turned off the pc and took out a gfx i didnt kno off i think asus gef 6200 le and put the new one, palit gforce 210 512mb in it.

so it booted perfectly, got the drivers installed asked for a reboot gave it one then the bad news.the start loading screen for xp the one that you get when your booting the blue dots going >>>> that finshed.a mom later it came again :S.and followed by a blue screen saying somthing about memory so i rebooted it. it still came. so i went into safe mode and safe mode appeared. so i went and disabled the ex asus gfx driver then it asked for a reboot. wich made it even worse

the blue screen still comes but now even safe mode dosent load even after waitn 30 mins

on one occasion instead of the blue screen the chkdisk came and was complted but after the blue screen was still comming i then decided to put the old gfx back in

good news it got past windows xp boot screen the blue dotty one but after that everythting when blank even after a few hours nothing

and safe mode wasnt loading

if anyone helps me fix this problem i will be over the moon

it is a core 2 duo 2gb generic ddr2 ram an asus pld52(some other numbers/letter)/1333

stupid mobo dont have a intergrated vga so idk whats causing the problem

the hdd has 5gb space

I can't understand what you are asking.

Did you take a perfectly fine working machine, open it, remove the GFX card, put a new one in, and now everything is broken?
Have you tried putting the old GFX card back into the machine?

You did isolate the system from the mains power, and remove all static from your body by earthing yourself prior to touching anything inside the case?

Please type in short sentences with full words, so we can understand you.

no i didnt take of the power cable but it was a switch psu so i turned the siwithc off i dont the upgrade on a wooden desk with loose clothes but remeber it worked fine when it was installed the drivers done somthing

sorry bout the grammar was in a rush

I think you might've accidently static killed something... So does the PC still turn on with the old GPU, but with no display?

yh and thats on the old gfx but on the new one a blue screen of death to do with somthing about memory it reboots too fast so cant see much

and on both cards safe mode dosent load

Try F8 upon bootup and selecting the 'Last known good' option.

BSOD caused by conflicting gfx drivers probably, can try a repair install if you have an XP disc or you can restore the registry manually either using the recovery console or by plugging the drive into another working machine.

Reload the sucker. It sounds like the OS is dead. If it posts and it loads up but you have no display at that point, then Reload windows, or... download Hirens boot disk, boot into a RAM Disk XP and start a Check Disk on the C Drive.

yh i did
problem is i would install new os but the bloody cctv software cost 300 quid only option now if i was to reinstall windows is sniff the software fomr dodgy sites:D

If the software cost £300 the surely they supplied a licence or some actual codes or disks with the software on?

What exactly is the system doing now.
You switch on?
Does it provide GFX output for the BIOS and POST, and then goes dark where it should say loading windows?
Or do it say loading windows, and then go dark at the point where it should be bringing the desktop into view?

Can you access the command menu to allow safe mode? and if so when you try to load safe mode does it go dark at the point where the desktop should appear?

basically,it ons the bios posy menu and etc show up even the safe mode menu etc show up

it also gets past the xp loading screen on both gfx but the diffrence is

on the old gfx it just stays blank

and on the new gfx it gets past the loading screen but get a blue screen saying somthing about memory

and only once did the blue screen not come and it went into a chkdsk

and for both cards on safe mode this is what happens

the processes come in a line but when it gets to the last one it just gets stuck

what is a recovry console, safe mode with comand prompt :S ?

Does the CCTV have its own hardware card? Did it plug into the old graphics card? You probably have created a conflict with the CCTV hardware / software and the windows start up scripts. It cannot find the graphics drivers. Try booting with all CCTV hardware or connections disconnected.
The most straightforward but expensive solution is to buy a new hard disk and reinstall windows and other software. Slave the old disk to recover data.
Similarly use the disk from the computer with the CPU that you blew up and install the GPU drivers and then the CCTV.

andy.

with any software you get a download link and a key.. or a disk sent out with a key lol

put gfx card in go in safe mode and uninstall anything to do with it
