Hey guys ill cut to the chase.

New computer parts came this morning I have assembled them all together. But when I try to power on the machine it starts up for a second and cuts out. Then tries again and cuts out.

Any thoughts ?? I will upload images asap. Ty all.

Try to connect 2 powerleads into your gfx card. As it needs to use them both. On your picture it shows you are using one.

Yup, you need an 8-pin into near the CPU socket and another 6-pin into the graphics card (same as the one already in there).

Theres two pci 6 pin ( or 4 pin) connectors at the top of the graphics card, currently you only have one plugged in. you have to get another 1 and plug it into the top of the graphics card.

Right we have put the extra cable into the graphics and into the cpu 8 pin but now where getting no power at all :O

Standoffs are on I had 9 but where only physically capable of using 6 would this cause an issue and they are securely screqwed in.

There are only two times I can see a problem occuring when you've used standoffs:

1) if you haven't used enough (e.g. 1 or 2.... 6 should be absolutely fine)

2) if you've screwed one where there isn't a corresponding hole on the motherboard, and the standoff is shorting off the back of the motherboard

Right we only have 6 standoffs in and they are deffinetly not shorting the mobo. Like I said its literally turning on then turning off. Then on then off in around 3 seconds of each other :(

Ok, well that means you've missed something somewhere. Let's take a step back. Unplug everything and start from the beginning.

Connect the 24-pin motherboard power. Connect the 8-pin CPU power. Connect the two 6-pins to the graphics card. Make sure the RAM is firmly seated and in the right slots (check the mobo manual). Leave the drives out for now, we just want to see if it boots.

Is that PSU you've got a modular model? If so, make sure that the cables are properly seated at the PSU end too.

Also make sure the power button connection is correct (check the mobo manual for pin mappings).

Its semi modular.

Non modular connectors are:
24 pin (Mobo)
8 pin (CPU)
4+4 pin (CPU)
6+2 pin (PCI-E)
6+2 pin (PCI-E)

Just checked mine.
Make sure the 6+2 pin is not plugged into the CPU!
