I think my pc has a virus bad malware. It's been fine and suddenly just now it started going crazy. Not downloaded anything at all, have no idea what has caused it. Chrome just goes crazy when I open it with pop ups. I have tried several malware programs and nothing even detects it. Kasperskey doesn't detect anything. What can I do? Running win 10 if that helps.

Yer I sorted the password issue but will a factory reset get rid of any malware. I was thinking about reinstalling windows anyway so it wouldn't be to inconvenient to me.

I reinstalled windows and although the insane pop ups have stopped I can no longert access any secure websites. I just get messages in every browser saying insecure connection. After a google search I found that It might be malwear related.
I have once again ran malwarebytes in normal and safe mode but it doesnt see anything. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

to be honest I would just do a OS re install, only way for sure to remove everything.

Malwarebytes normally gets rid of everything but you could try combo fix as that is normally a good one to use as well

I did reinstall the os but I'll try that combo fix to make sure. I just disabled private browsing on kesperskey and that seems to have solved the issue on Firefox but not chrome. Not sure now if it's malware or just security settings somewhere. The notice I get is saying that the websites have no security certificate.

if you done a clean install you should be fine unless you have any second HDDs connected which could have got infected as well but a OS re install would not have cleaned them drives

Did you ensure your Windows date and time is properly synced and correct?

Out of interest what security software are you running - ie: antivirus and firewall?

I had the certificate problem with Firefox, I think it was when I reinstalled ESET. I eventually discovered that you can export the certificate from ESET and import it into Firefox and the secure connection issue was resolved.

If you do happen to be running ESET, this is how to export the SSL certificate with v9.
1. Open ESET and press F5 to go into Advanced Setup.
2. Click on Web and Email from the list on the left.
3. Click the + next to SSL/TLS, scroll to Root Certificate, then click View Certificate.
4. Click the Details tab then click the Copy to File... button.
5. Save the certificate as a DER type in a handy location, such as your desktop.

Now if you want to import the an SSL certificate into Firefox, do this.
1. Go in to Firefox options, click Advanced then Certificates.
2. Click the Authorities tab then import.
