*URGENT*No display on monitor on new pc

...errr no. =/

Have you got the motherboard on brass standoffs in the case i take it? And not jsut got the board screwed to the case...

ok....just for giggles.

Take the motherboard out of the case and put it on the motherboard box or something, plug in your graphics card with the power plugged in as well, re-seat your ram and leave one stick in, plug in your psu 24 pin connector and 4 pin connector by the cpu.

Then try and turn it on...you'lll probably have to 'short' the power pin though on the motherboard...unless you can plug in the power switch from the case.

So you want me to short the motherboard????

Nope....in order for the system to turn on, it needs a switch connected to the power switch pins on the motherboard...

If you cant get the case switch header to the board (due to length etc) Then you would have to stick a screw-driver or something inbetween the TWO power switch pins on the motherboard.

But no others....as that CAN short the board =/

You have a power switch on the case, with the header connected to the motherboard so you can turn it on... correct?

As you'll have the system out of the case, this power switch wont be connected.

So how do you turn it on? If you stick something metal inbetween the power switch pins on the motherboard, it will act as if your pushing a power button switch.

Because something in your case 'could' be shorting the motherboard...and stopping it from posting / giving video output.

As your computer is doing :)

Building out of the case is a massive sanity check. You can examine every connection easily. It removes lots of variables from the equation.

If you can get a 100% working stick of ram off of a friend and try it in your board, it will help to decide if your ram is faulty or not.

And then you could try your ram in his/her pc as well just to double check.

If you had a case speaker it would be five times easier to tell you whats wrong...but you dont.
