URGENT - Possible damage?

Hello all,

I'm fuming :mad:

I'm currently in the process of selling my PC piece by piece, now my graphics card I took out the other night to take pictures of it and the seller bought it and I should have received the money today (haven't checked yet)

I left it on my desk ready to package etc.

Came home to find the side of my PC off and pulled forward, the graphics card hanging out of the side of it with the 2 x molex's connected and the machine on.

The fan wasn't spinning on the card.

The circuit board is touched the edge of the case.

What's the chance some idiotic member of my family (who shouldn't of been in there in the first place) has caused damage to the card.

I've unplugged it and its currently in a static proof bag.

They could have done, although I wouldn't expect the fan to run with it out of the slot anyway...

The only way to be sure is to test it in a system to be honest
 
Looking over the card - none of the circuits appear to have blown etc but the heatsink is huge so something may have burnt out under that.

Card is a Radeon 1950 Pro 512mb. only a few months old

I don't know if someone tried to fit it at all.

the side of the PC was off, the molex's were plugged in but the front of the card was touching the desk so it was hanging out of the case.
 
It's a tough call to make, it should be ok, but the only way to find out is to try it. Just stick it in now. Fingers crossed. Let us know how you get on.

Can't you just ask whoever did it, what they did? or did you just kill them first...

Looks like kid bro/teenager? wanted to play a game,doesn`t have a clue about fitting it properly and left it dangling.
I doubt it was malicious,but have you fallen out with anyone male in your family?
Hopefully you`re lucky
