Urgent problem with gf's PC.

I've just tried to use the ipconfig /all thing, the window pops up and dissapears :/

The green flashing light means there is a connection right? And data is going through? So it's not a problem with the hardware just with the software?

Are there any drivers that could help detect the hardware or anything?

Also, if there's no other option, would just buying a network card work? I'd assume that it would be picked up properly and everything will be fine and dandy.

Did you try what i said? there will be ethernet drivers amongst the motherboard drivers.

Well i had same issue on my old pc and it solved it.

Hope it does, goodluck with it, off to work sadly can't stay to help.(also try looking for yellow exclamation mark errors listed in device manager then you will know it's not installed correctly.)

I'm downloading one as we speak, afaik the mobo is a Biostar NF61S MICRO AM2 SE

Hopefully this will work.

Just had a quick look on the Biostar site (Was the first link in google after copy and pasting the motherboard name), all the drivers are there including ethernet and a downloadable manual for the board.

Gentlemen, I thank you, I got hold of the Ethernet drivers, installed them and I got a lovely notification from Steam saying that TF2 was installing an update.

I've never upgraded or done anything techy with a PC before, needless to say that I only crave to do more, it's been bloody stressful but the relief of the finished product is worth it.

Now imma go play some TF2 with the missus.

Thank you all that helped me, I'm very grateful of the help and advice I received.

Told you it was ethernet drivers.;)

Glad you sorted it, always the most stressful thing with pcs turns out to be amongst the easiest when you find out what it was.:p
