urgent problem with microsoft word - need help

ok, a friend of mine has saved over her college work by accident. can she get it back from the temporary files or anything or is it lost forever?

its from office xp i believe if it helps.

If it's 2003 or latter, she might be lucky. But I highly doubt it. As the temp files get removed when:

A) Machine shuts down.
B) Microsoft Office closes completely and a new document is opened.

shes had to retype it all lol.... luckily she did it on A4 first, however she was a) drunk and b) it was about 10000 words and c) it had to be handed in in about 6hours time.
