Hey Folks,

finally drove to OcUK today and bought my new maschine.

The pc is hooked up to my LG 32 Full hd lcd. However windows 7 sugests a resolution of 1360x768. With that resolution everything is fine. But if I go any higher the picture gets rather pixely/blury. Why ist that.

Pc is connected with hdmi to the telly.
Video card is a saphire radeon 5770 vapor x

Any quick help would be appriciated

If you're connected by HDMI there really should be no reason for picture degradation...

The only thing that comes to mind is that your TV accepts 1080 (full HD) input, but is fact only a 1366x768 display as Windows is detecting. Trying to force it to go higher makes it look bad because it has to squeeze more than 1 pixel of image into every physical pixel on screen.

You can spot this most easily with text - vertical/horizontal lines in letters will appear thicker or thinner depending on where they are on screen, but if you look really close, every line is sharply defined and ends at the pixel boundary, rather than "blurred".

Shot in the dark ^^;

[Silly idea]
Are you setting resolution via Windows control panel or via ATI Catalyst Control Center?

Might be that 7 doesn't like the drivers/card/tv/whatever, and CCC might let you set the right res.

Actually sort of right, just got it working now, not 100% perfect but that needs some more tweking at least its taking the full hd resolution now without being unreadably
