US Airforce develops the "Active Denial System" pain ray

did a quick searcg of this, and couldnt find anything, so hope its not been posted b4

but the US Airforce has developed a non lethal weapon system, inflicint pain upon the victims from up to 500m away. It works by firing a 94GHz millimeter wave which causes the air around the target to react, giving the victim an intolerable burning sensation

yh I saw this on the news ages ago there was a hummer with what looked like a satellite dish on top firing at some squaddies and them running like hell

Saw this when it was still made from wood They are waves though, all you need to stop it are a very fine mesh of metal, that is just slightly smaller than the wavelength, thus stopping the waves getting in! And light would probably still be able to pass through, like you can see through the mesh in the microwave

Also about the matrices being a defense, if the taliban have matrices that stop the rays, they better hope the matrices stop bullets too

Hard to believe it watching that vid, just seem like hes acting. Wonder if they'll ever get it powered enough to be almost rocket launcher levels, something like the beam from the ships on independance day, just not ... CGI.
