You do not need to have publicly owned hospitals in order to have universal healthcare, in fact a system where there is competition would work better.

USA already has all the hospital infrastructure in place, they just need new laws, rules and regulations.

The government needs to stop injecting money in to it and inflating the prices. $60 for an aspirin? Sounds fair enough here you go.

Of course doctors might have to move from $1,000,000 houses to $500,000 houses if they had to actually start competing in a free market (the good ones won't though).
