Awww c'mon, 'US shoots Iran' sounds a lot better than 'extremely minor US vessel shoots one or two bullets vaguely in the direction of some extremely minor Iran vessel'

Firing shots is routine; not very serious at all.

If firing shots is routine, how come this got reported? Slow news day?
