US submarine accident

He said the vessel had just completed a week long visit to Plymouth.

Wouldn't have thought it was particularly sneaky :p

Subs and ships from all over the world visit devonport docks all the time, nothing wrong with that. They also moor in the sound as its 'usually' a safe anchorage.

EDIT: So yes it is a very regular occurance, last time we went past devonport docks we got shot at by a german ship (but thats another story lol)

for a 20 year old that would be damn good going. :p

To be fair to the germans it wasn't all one sided.

Our uni club were on a booze cruise up the taymar. As you do on boose cruises most of the people were rather merry including the the president of the club, who just happened to have a megaphone that night. She noticed as we were going past one of the ships that it was German, and so proceeded to shout some rather naughty words (in german) at the ship through the megaphone. Next thing we knew there was a pair of spotlights on us and about 30 seconds later (as the president didnt seem to take the hint :p ) we heard three rounds fired in quick succession. Needless to say that shut her and everyone else on the boat up for a minute or two. :o

We still dont know if they were live rounds and where they actually fired them.

(its probably one of those "you had to be there moments" but still fun to remember ;) )

DML is whom owns the Navel port in Plymouth. DML = Devonport Managment LTD.

Devonport is a nasty rough neck aera.

Yanks, Pols, OZ, French, CAD etc etc all use it.

The sub was in the SRC. Submarine refit center which is just down form 9dock which also nuke sub and boats.

Yanks are here a lot as they don;t have skills as what some at DML have and tech is what i was told.

DML has a nuke alarm test every Monday at 11:30am for 2 mins incase soemthing leask or goes off as it has more nuke waste, wepons there than everywhere eles in the UK no thanks to the yanks

Before you ask how do i know all this. I use to work there and live there

They can olny build to brake and destory not able to fix, tweak and tune were as us brtis can. Plus they float a lot over in Italily this sub

I also know they were in for more and the compnay i use to work for were called on bord to sort a fault with an EMS machine/printer for service duties.
