Dick Cheney has apparently shot a 78 year old man whilst out hunting. :D Sorry, i shouldn't laugh.

'US Vice President Dick Cheney has accidentally shot and injured a man during a hunting trip in Texas.

The 78-year-old was sprayed with shotgun pellets during a quail hunting trip.

Harry Whittington is said to be "alert and doing fine" after the shooting incident at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas on Saturday.

Ranch owner Katharine Armstrong said Mr Cheney turned to shoot a bird and accidently hit Mr Whittington.

She said the elderly lawyer was taken to Corpus Christi Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Lea McBride, spokeswoman for the vice president, said he had visited Mr Whittington and his wife at the hospital.'

.....that said I wouldnt be suprised if anyone told me that John Prescott had "accidentally" shot someone with a shotgun either. :p
 
Meh, being sprayed by birdshot is nothing. It happens to us a lot at the range on Saturdays. The way the place is laid out, if the wind is in a certain direction and they're shooting out of a particular trap we often get shot raining down on us.

Indeed, Bisley's new layout has the shotgun ranges shooting over the tracks to the butts for the 600M range. Nothing to worry about. Mortars might pose a problem though, However saying that, since when does one shoot quail with mortal shells :D

Who in hells name hunts quails? do they get really really big in the wild or something? the only quails I've ever seen are like the size of a chick, they are slow stupid and can't fly ... I mean seriously, its pretty much just a feathery egg with legs ...

give the guy a break, the mans had 4 heart attacks, he goes in yearly to have blood clots removed from his knee`s! its a wonder he could hold the ******* gun never mind shoot the thing... :D
