US - Women now required to sign up for draft, women upset.

Its still not through i think the senege has passed it but not the house and obama looks set to veto it

Conscription - compulsory military service.

In the US all men between 18-25 have to register their name and address etc, so they can be called up quickly should the need arise, ie WW3! And now all women do too, which is great news :)

Perhaps so, but if it exists it should apply to everyone and not be used to grant extremely privileged treatment to people in the "right" biological group (as it currently does).

Real equality (as opposed to the usual corruption of it by feminists and other biological group advocates seeking to destroy the whole idea of equality) isn't a pick 'n' mix thing.

Yes indeed.

Coopting 'equality' to reduce a particular demographic's rights, whilst continuing to deny their rights elsewhere, is not actually equality at all.

Sure but with a resurgent Russia, China taking a more authoritative stance in their own backyard and closer ties between Iran and North Korea with regard to weapon development and so on it would be tactically a bad move to make major chops to military capability at the moment.

Women being women generally hate war and violence. I'm sure they'd rather see equality brought about by removing conscription for men, as opposed to this.

I just don't really agree with forcing anyone to join up regardless of gender so would prefer not to see the draft extended. We should be working to get rid of it rather than making it more extensive.
