I just got myself a Corsair 550D and i have a problem with the front panel USB3 ports. I just plugged in my trusty Corsair Flash Voyager 2.0 in but it does not work (works fine on my laptop).

If USB 2.0 devices are meant to work on USB 3.0 ports then the only other explanation is the USB 3.0 header on my motherboard. One of the pins was misaligned stopping me from plugging in the front panel cable. I gently coaxed it back in to position and the cable went in fine. How likely is it that my USB 3 header is completely narfed?

Thanks

From the motherboard specification page:

- 2 x Rear USB 3.0 ports by Etron EJ168A, support USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 up to 5Gb/s
- 1 x Front USB 3.0 header (supports 2 USB 3.0 ports) by Etron EJ168A, supports USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 up to 5Gb/s

Honestly, Etron is one of the worse USB 3.0 controllers there are. Mine keeps dropping the device, or not pick up the device at all. You could try reinstalling the Etron drivers from the ASRock or Etron site, but it didn't work for me so I disabled mine...

Another thing you could do is to go into BIOS and turn on "USB Legacy function" or something similiar, that seems to help with some poeple.

Thanks for that, it hadn't even occurred to me to try installing drivers :) All sorted now.
