Testing my new Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0( a keystick or flashdrive if you like ): http://www.sandisk.co.uk/products/usb/drives/extreme/

I've run a few tests with crystal disk mark.

This is the first test I did while I had the official Gigabyte USB 3.0 drivers installed.

Then I installed https://downloadcenter.intel.com/do...Intel-8-9-Series-and-C220-C610-Chipset-Family
and tested again (Driver for http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#LGA_1150 and up)

For comparison this is my old USB 2.0 Pico drive on a USB 3.0 port.

I'd be interested in the results of other people's USB drives. I bought this USB so I could have a fast install media to install windows. I use nLite and this new driver integrated into the boot.wim should make the install even faster than it was this time (about 20min vs well over an hour for old usb)

Also if you test enable (smart enable) XHCI in bios.

The Sandisk Extreme IS a USB keystick not an external HD (edited my post to make it clear) and I install an nLited OS with all updates and drivers which cannot fit on a DVD single sided. My ISO on the USB Sandisk Extreme is 5.29Gb.

Post your USB bench and then we can discuss it further.:)

I saw there was a difference in write speed between the 32 and 64Gb versions, almost twice as fast.

Here is the Sandisk Extreme 3.0 flash drive on USB 2.0 port:
