Hi folks,

Quick Q - recently bought a USB 3.0 PCIe Card (unpowered) and since installing my computer won't stay shut down.

It shuts down but maybe a second later - reboots itself up!

I've uninstalled the device and reinstalled - updated driver. It happens when nothing is plugged into the ports - I've disabled PCIe wake up in BIOS - I'm lost!

Just wanted to swing by in case there is something obvious I'm not doing...?

Disable all wake ups in BIOS fi you use powr button of case.

Also setting ErP to enabled in BIOS likely stops that.

I had this issue and it was a PCI interrupt (IRQ) issue. I had an Nvidia 8400GS and the PC didn't shut down unless it was removed. Finally figured out in the BIOS settings, but this was Pentium 4 days. I don't know if you still get access to that stuff now.

Thanks hyperseven - really appreciate that - I had no idea that was a thing!

I'm not really sure what I'm looking at - the abnormal shutdowns have no reason attached. The detail is this:

BootAppStatus 0xc00000d4
Checkpoint 16
CheckpointStatus 0
SystemSleepTransitionsToOn 1
CsEntryScenarioInstanceId 0

...but I've no idea there.

Interesetingly I selected a Deep S4 shutdown in BIOS, which apparently means it's only the power button that can wake the computer and it still happened...!
