Am looking for the above in a low profile,my google fu is failing though :o
Wanting at least a 500GB or 1TB
it is to increase the storage on my tablet as i am over the recommended size of 128 GB(got a 256GB to work)

any suggestions/name of what to search for please :)

Have you tried using 'type-c' or this let me google that for you link.

Or a well known brand...

Or just checking other well known manufacture sites directly.

Low profile is not a term I've ever seen used to describe a flash drive so I'm not surprised you can't find anything. Just to be sure we're talking about the same thing, what do you mean by 'flash drive'? Are you after a USB thumb drive or an external SSD? The former are rarely thick enough for low profile to be meaningful. The latter are mostly fairly slim - have a look at the Sandisk Extreme Portable SSD range for example.

yeah usb thumb drive
tried an external ssd and hdd not enough power from the tablet to run
need to be a small (physical)size as i am worried about snapping the port with a standard usb thumb drive
Got a few sandisk small size drives but they are all `normal`usb connections and i want usb c
I tried to set up my router as a nas and even access my other pcs via the tablet with no luck so far :(

So you're talking about something like this but with a type-c connector?
Or like this..
Just with larger capacity?

e: If so you're probably look for what's commonly called a micro or mini USB drive. I can't recall seeing them in capacities much above 256GB. :(

The smallest flash drive I can think of is the Sandisk Ultra Fit, which I also have. I can't speak for the Integral Fusion drive, but they look a little bigger. than the Sandisk. Another drive to consider might be the Samsung Fit Plus.

Sadly none of the above drives are USB C. Doesn't the tablet have USB 3.1 ports? If so, then the above Sandisk and Samsung drives might fit the bill. The Samsung is bigger and faster than the Sandisk, so it's up to you where you want to make the compromise.

yeah

yeah like that with at least 500GB or better 1 TB but with type-c connection

Surprised an external ssd doesn't work
My Samsung t7 works fine On
My phones and tablets usb C

Another option perhaps
I have a load of usb A flash drives
I just use a usb to go cable
Usb C to usb A
Let's me plug them into my usb c devices
Got a pair of them off the rainforest
Under ten quid for 2 one being about 3 inches long
The other about 6 inches long
And very decent quality
Can also be used to plug a mouse etc into tablet
If you feel like it

an extension lead is a possibility,i have tried and it worked with this tablet.I tried with a samsung external hdd and it would not power on
Perhaps i am worrying too much about damage
I get comfy in the chair/recliner and rest the tablet on my lap
Last resort is to delete a lot of the books/manga off the tablet to make room but i know as soon as i do i will want to re-read something :(

If an extension works
Certainly gives you more options
To re use existing type A drives
And because usb A is probably still much easier
To find
Than usb C flash drives

Can understand worrying about damaging the port
Just spent 17 hours crammed in a plane seat
Worrying about damaging mine lol
But that was way more cramped than would be at home

lenovo tb x606f
Says it will only take upto 128GB but i have a 256 GB working fine
happy with the tablet but as always you always want more storage than you think

tablet has 128GB onboard but when you set the sd to be used you cant store stuff on the onboard ...........mmmmm
had a thought
if i set the sd card to removable i wonder if i can use the onboard as well
Will have go with a different card first i think

Hmmm
I seem to be using both internal
And sd card
On this s8 ultra
Though no idea how I set it up

Got a lenovo p11 somewhere That I
Still have on MM i think
But Can't remember how it worked on lenovo
Still too jet lagged to think properly lol
And my memory sucks even on a good day lol

Just swapped out an ssd into a caddy and it is seen by the tablet :)
However the adapter cable sticks out a long way and i am not confident in not snapping the port
I will keep as is until i can find/or they make a small profile type-c drive
Thanks for all the help guys :)
