Hi, can some people tell me what they consider to be the cheapest-ish, fastest, half decent quality external usb 3 mechanical hard drive that is powered with an included usb 3 cable for connecting to a pc ( that has usb3) so that I can copy lots of data onto it and then connect the external drive to another pc with usb 3 and save all the data onto its internal usb 3 drive, I have wanted to buy one for a long time and just never got round to it, I believe they are very handy for situations like this, hope that explains it ?

1TB would be more than enough capacity.

Any make or model will do fine, I'm not fussy so long as it works pretty good and kinda fast so that I can zoom all that data about.

thank you all ;)

anyone have any ideas ?

I see lots available but thats what makes it all the more difficult to choose, its just one like I described and if possible a usb 3 cable included for plugging it into another pc which is also usb 3 too and that way I can move lots of data as quickly as possible ?

Very happy with the 1TB WD My Passport Ultras. I use them for backups. The supplied cable looks around 45cm in length with a USB connection at one end while the other end which connects to the drive is custom.

Ok mate, I still haven't ordered so I will look that model up, thank you ;)

I have 2 WD drives. A 2TB elements and 2TB passport ultra. Both are just as fast as each other and the only difference being appearance and warranty. The ultra has 5 years if you know where to look.

I can throughly recommend WD RMA support. Very quick no quibble turnaround.
