Hi,
I have a fideco multi adapter I've used for a while in windows 10 on my old system to transfer files from 3.5 inch hdds via usb2/3.
With my new PC I'm following all the same steps but I'm finding that the usb 3.2 gen 1 ports specifically cause issues. When transferring files I will get a burst of speed but then it will drop to 0 and just freeze along with file explorer. Tried it with multiple drives and all the usb 3.2 gen 1 ports. Now if I use a 3.2 gen 2 port it works fine! I didn't have those types of ports on my 10 year old motherboard. The unit that plugs into the drives comes with its own power adapter too.
Heres the layout of the ports, I've plugged it into one of the "4" ports, the "2" ports are causing freezing. All drivers are up to date.
