USB-C 'Minefield'

Oh and asim bingo, mind control and wake up!

lmao

No i don't buy apple. I dislike apple for other reasons, and I also dislike samsung and other android manufacturers who design and release disposable phones every 3 months.

And what has reading what charger i need got to do with manufacturers not sticking to limited standards and losing the plot?

I'm talking about the standards of things, it means sticking to 5v@1500mA, or 9v@2000mA etc, without dozens of manufacturers dishing out everything in between as well as polluting the whole market with crap like QuickCharge45.1 or DASH24.1. What a load of crap lol. We're already on QuickCharge 3.0 lmao that goes to show how little foresight or planning these idiots have nowadays. It's all about limiting lifespan and milking maximum money.

You can have spec limited auto-negotiation for high power devices too you know. That's a real system. not this DASH crap which doesn't work with anything else.

I tried plugging my phone round my mate's house the other day just wouldn't charge at all lol yet it features a standard USB port. How will "reading and checking things" help in this situation - more than the damn manufacturers sticking to a set standard? (this is why your argument is invalid). :)

Look how long USB lasted at 5V@500mA and suddenly in the past few years they are now pumping absolutely every combination of voltage and amperage they possibly can through a USB cable!
Chargers don't pump out the electricity, the devices draw it, the charger just converts it from AC to DC. I.E a 5V 0.5A device plugged into a 5v 3A charger is still only going to draw 0.5A

Maybe the solution is to stop calling transformers chargers xD
