Can you do me a favour and listen to a series of statements that have led me to the conclusion that 2 Akasa AK-ICR-14 card readers are faulty and not my CF card...... I have a video camera using SD cards and a DSLR that can use either CF or SD.
The card reader will not recognise the CF card from my DSLR. Does not appear in my computer or photo editing program
The card reader recognises the SD card from my video camera. Pops up in my computer instantly
The card reader recognises the SD card from my DSLR. Shows in my computer instantly
If I use an old plug and play USB card reader the CF card show in my computer instantly and also in the photo editing program
On my old PC both CF and SD have always worked fine.
So my conclusion is based on the CF card working fine everywhere else except in the new Akasa, the PC recognises the CF card if connected by another device, The same files if on an SD card are picked up instantly by the Akasa.
I'm trying to find another CF card to try, but I can pretty much say the CF card is fine. (Sandisk Extreme 4 8GB)
Thoughts appreciated.
