USB Device Over Current Status Detected !!

Hey Guys, i keep getting this message when starting my PC "USB Device Over Current Status Detected !! computer will resart in 15 seconds"


I have found the problem to be when i connect my printer via USB, now all the other USB that are connected are working without problems and the usb port is working with keyboard/mouse connected to it. (I am using the USB ports at the back of the case). Printer was working fine yetarday.

Have re-set BIOS as was overclocked, removed printer driver and can not think of anything else.. anyone any ideas??

Check your manual to locate the USB power connectors on your board and double check they have a jumper on them (and in the default position). If this does not turn up anything then I would be inclined to think you have a short somewhere and would seek to test the board outside of the case.

Have checked fella and they look alright. Only got it back from local shop last week as i had everything from my old case put into my 1200 & had the H50 cooler fitted in which have used my printer quite a bit in the last week without any problems.

Also like i say all the other USB ports are working incl the port i use for my printer by connecting my mouse or keyboard.

Small Update


I have tried my old printer using the same cables, port ect and seems to be working fine.

Does it look like a dud printer?
