USB device requires reinserting for recognition

Thought i'd ask to see if there's a common solution to the following USB issue, as opposed to it being unique to assrock bios.

Board is a B550, but a different B550 as well as other boards i've never had the issue.

At first it didn't happen for a handful of boots upon a windows reinstall, now it's every boot. From cold boot a plugged in USB soundcard fails to be recognised in Windows as connected, upon reinserting when Windows had loaded it shows up. Fresh Windows install currently, but this was happening before the reinstall.

There's a driver available unique to the soundcard, with or without, no difference. I've had a play with the USB suspend settings.

Is there a common solution to the USB issue that anyone knows of?

I seem to be unlucky with B550 as this is a second one that has caused me strange issues. Yet my Mortar B550 has been rock solid even running a 2600x perfectly (all tested internal headers work, BT and Wifi work).

I had a similar problem with my Asrock Phantom Gaming B550 motherboard where the usb devices would disconnect randomly, i move a couple of the higher draw devices to the front usb ports and all seems fine now.

Might be related to power draw on the rear usb ports, try using the front case ports.

Funnily enough this is the phantom gaming 4 too, only bought it as it had two USB 3 headers, ironic.

Fast boot is disabled, but all helpful info for the future.

Been looking into something similar where my unraid server will not boot without going into the bios first, it's on an msi board. Seems like fast boot is the likely issue, but secure boot could be another issue too so try it turned off as well.

Have you checked the following?

- Make sure fast boot is disabled in Windows
- Make sure USB selective suspend is disabled in the current power plan

Both settings by default are enabled when the OS is re installed so I would disable them both and reboot.
