USB devices only recognised in one port

On my comp I have 4 usb devices, a wireless net adaptor, a tv dongle, a mouse and a playstation pad. The mouse and playstation pad work fine in any port.

The wireless net adaptor and tv dongle are different. If I use them in another usb port the computer recognises it as new hardware and requires it to be reinstallled. I thought that usb devices, once installed, should work on any port. Should that be the case?

I think this is a fault with windows, You should always try to use the same ports otherwise it will ask you to re-install.

did you install them from your mobo cd?

if yes, uninstall them and reboot, when you are back in to desktop after rebooting windows will install the software for them.

if no try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them remember to use windows drivers which it will automatically do after you reboot...
