Is it possible to run windows server on a USB drive?

Ideally wouldn't want an extra HDD in the Microserver for OS, so is this possible?

If not I'd imagine the N54L would allow you to boot from an external hard drive? (as it's essentially same as booting from usb drive, of course it would)

I don't think any version of Windows supports booting from a USB drive, other than that Windows 8 To Go which has kinda disappeared under the radar.

You might be able to boot from an external eSATA drive if you're lucky.

Even if you could do it it would be horrifically slow. Realistically you are looking at a flavour of Linux, Freenas or something similar if you want to boot from a USB stick.
