Hi

Got a loan of a USB hard drive. When I plug it in, XP recognises the drive is connected because the prompt comes up in the bottom right hand corner telling me it's found it and is ready for use, but it doesn't appear in My computer or the folder tree.

Any Ideas?

Cheers

I ran partition magic instead, to see what the drive was doing as you suggested ( Don't know why I didn,t think of that!) and found that it is there but hidden.

When I unhide the drive using PM, as soon as the PC reboots it goes straight back to being hidden. I've just tried it on another PC and it does exactly the same.

Ideas please?

Wow.. weird that it does it on other PC's too. I would personally backup all the data on it and then format it using the NTFS file system.
