I have a couple of back up USB drives, one is a 500gb Seagate a few years old that barely gets used.
I decided to dig it out as I found a use for it but when connected it's showing in disk management as a RAW partition and I have zero access. I've tried formatting it (data is already backed up elsewhere) but windows fails, I've tried formatting it in disk part and it just hangs at 0% completed, does it sound dead?
The light comes on and I can feel the disk spinning, there are no bad noises and no other signs there are any faults.
