Are there any reliable USB KVMs these days? I ask because I've got a load of old parts and am thinking of building a machine to act as a NAS, and also to as a test bed for learning a bit about windows server 2008/exchange. The problem I have is that I have read that most USB KVMs are unreliable, in that when you switch it back the PC my not detect the USB devices and you have to unplug them and plug them back in again.

I could use a remote desktop solution, but that won't help if I have to switch between different OS' during boot up, which is why I'm looking to see if there is a decent USB KVM yet?

I use an Aten CS1734A with a MS keyboard and MS wireless mouse.

No problems at all switching between four PCs, the oldest about 6 years old.

EDIT:
Just remembered. I have to connect my wireless mouse to the USB hub on the KVM in order for the mouse to function properly. If the mouse is plugged into the KVM's mouse port, then it only functions as a basic three button, vertical scroll mouse. However I don't think I'm not using the latest firmware in my KVM.
